8월 정수론 학회들

8월에 국내에서 열리는 정수론 학회들이 3개나 된다.
참석해서 많이 배우는 것이 나을 지, 연구실에 박혀서 내 공부를 하는 게 나을 지 심하게 고민중.
3개 모두 참석했다가는 내 금쪽같은 방학에 학회만 가게 되는 격.
3개 중 하나는 가야 할 것 같지만...

오늘 문득 드는 생각.
논문은 써서 뭐하나?























Publish가 되야지....
Publish 안되면 끝. 혹자는 언제가는 다 Publish 된다 하지만 이 나라에선 제 때 안 되면 끝.

2008 IMO

올해도 IMO는 스페인 마드리드에서 7월 10일부터 열렸습니다.

제가 수학하는 사람이기도 하지만 지도 교수님께서 IMO AB 위원이시기도 해서, 게다가 지난 학기 담당 조교님께서 IMO와 깊숙이 관계한 분인지라, 올해도 잊지않고 IMO 에 관한 소식을 기대하고 있었죠.
( 졸업하고도 선생님 그늘에 안주하는 저로서는 이 땅에 지도교수님 없는 불안한 몇 주를 보내고 있습니다. )

결과가 궁금해서 좀 알아보니 올해도 역시 !!!!  


영어 문제를 남쪽 한국어와 북쪽 한국어로 번연한 것이 있습니다.
언듯 읽다가 보니 두 문제지가 비슷한 듯 다르더군요.
아마 수학 용어를 어찌 쓰느냐가 제일 차이가 많이 나는 듯 합니다.
예를 들어.... (맞춰 보세요.)

뾰족 삼각형 --> 예각 삼각형
매개          --> 조건
씨인수       --> 소수
정의 실수   --> 양의 정수

아직 문제를 제대로 읽어 보지 못해서 문제에 대한 논평은 PASS!!! 이 점에 대해선 앞으로도 PASS!!!!
역시 제일 궁금한 건 결과겠죠? 제가 문제를 잘 푼 건 아니지만 왠지 잘했다면 기분이 좋잖아요.

대한 민국은 금4개 은2개 총점 188점으로 종합 4위입니다. <--- 이런 순위 매기기에 익숙한 저를 용서하시길...
3위 미국은 190점으로 단 2점차이밖에 안 나네요. 지난해 미국이 성적이 안 좋았는데 올해는 만회했구요.
대한민국은 작년에 이어 올해도 역시 아깝게 4위입니다.
괄목한 것은 북한의 성적이예요.  금2 은4 총점 173점으로 아깝게 2점차로 7등입니다.
북한이 IMO에 출전한지 얼마 안 되는 것으로 아는데 정말 대단하죠?
