An apology

2008년 2월 25일 17대 대통령 취임식을 앞두고 대부분의 뉴스는 "오늘 대통령직 인수위에서는 .... " 하고 시작한다. 10년만에 정권이 바뀌니 정치적 신념(이 있다면 말이다. 있을지는 의문이지만, 어쨌든 듣기 좋은 말로 신념)나 이권의 주인이 바뀌니 모든 것을 대통령직 인수위원회에서 갈아엎으려 하는 것 같다. 좋은 방향으로 바꾼다면 반대할 생각 없다. 사실은 정치에 대해 정말 관심없다. 하지만 내가 살아가는데 영향을 주는 정치라면 좀 더 정확하게 내 밥그릇을 빼앗길 것 같다면 관심을 안 가질래야 안 가질 수가 없다.

한 지인은 이런 말을 홈피에 남겼더라.
뉴스나 신문보기가 힘에 부친다. "오늘 인수위가~" 하고 그 다음은 엇일지 겁이나서 원~
공감 일만퍼센트.... 이런 말 한다고 잡혀갈라나? MB이 무서워서 말이지...ㅠㅠ

나같은 한국에서 자리를 잡고자 하는 사람들에겐 중요한 수치이다.
한국이 아닌 나라에선 치명적인 수치가 아니라고 하는데 가끔은 정말 그런지 궁금하다.

보통은 이 블로그의 방문자는 하루평균 40-50명 정도인데 오늘 오전에 들어와 보니 130을 넘기고 있다.
무슨 일인지 궁금해서 기록을 뒤져보니 이렇더라.

미국 드라마 ‘섹스 앤 더 씨티’에서 강도를 만난 주인공 캐리 브래드쇼는 “다 가져가도 좋으니까 제발 마놀로 블라닉 만은 건드리지 말아주세요” 라고 하소연한다. 

영화 '웨딩플래너'에서 메리(제니퍼 로페즈 분)는 맨홀에 하이힐이 끼어 고생한다. 끝까지 하이힐에서 발을 빼지 않는다. 심지어는 쓰레기 수레에 거의 치일뻔 할 떄까지...(이 사건 덕분에 멋진 사랑을 하게 되리라고는 예상할 수 있는 일이지만 말이다.

영화배우 마릴린 먼로는 “여자라면 누구나 하이힐에 신세를 지고 있다”는 명언을 남겼다.

영화에서만의 일은 아니니 나 역시 하이힐에 집착하곤 한다. 영화배우도 아니고 멋진 패셔니스트도 아닌데다 게다가 하루 종일 연구실 의자에 앉아 있거나, 다리 퉁퉁 부으면서 강의를 해야하는 나에겐 어쩌면 하이힐은 전혀 필요없는 아이템이지만 말이다. 하지만 그 하이힐의 매력에 빠진 사람은 알 거다. 못 끊는다.
